Latest News re INTERPOL provided by Alain (posted 14/11/11)
I have just returned from the Steering Group (SG) meeting of the INTERPOL DVI Standing committee (DVI SC) that met in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil last week. The meeting was held parallel to a Brazilian initiated meeting-'International Conference of DVI or ICDVI 2011'.
Here is a summary of events as I feel impact on the FOd WG.
United Arab Emirates was accepted as a member of the SG this means the Middle East is now represented.
The dates for the SC meeting next May (2012) will be May 22, 23 and 24.
The FOd WG will meet on the Monday, May 21, 2011, in the same format as this year.
IOFOS president will be invited to attend the FOd WG and DVI SC meetings.
There is a new public INTERPOL website. There appears to be some material missing from the DVI section — please let me know if you come across any omissions, errors.
The DVI section is a little hard to find and the SG has asked INTERPOL to make this section more visible.
Further work in relation to Ethical standards in DVI
The initiative for INTERPOL and ICMP to work more closely in relation to DVI is progressing
The Singapore regional headquarters for INTERPOL is advancing and there isa real possibility that DVI will be relocated to Singapore ( ? 2013/2104)
The development of the FASTID program is continuing with advanced testing about to be commenced.
There are continuing efforts to engage with the UN and EU in DVI matters
2008 DVI forms should be available on the website in all 4 languages (of INTERPOL) by the end of the year.
There is to be a major revision of the INTERPOL DVI forms in 2013.
As the process is lengthy, this is actually not that far away (it may seem so to many, but in effect the revisions/changes if any, need to be completed by early next year). There is thus a very ordered and strict timetable.
You are therefore asked to submit to me by December 01, 2011, any suggestions. The initial call is for any changes proposed in regard to format, and content. You may submit proposals in relation to the whole document, not just the 'F' pages. Carte blanche!
Kindest regards to all
Alain

Expert Witness Training Course
I have been running Expert Witness Training workshops for years usually for organisations or special interest groups, however I understand the difficulty in getting everyone in one place at one time so I have developed a series of workshops which individuals can register for individually or in smaller groups.
The first of these will be held in Melbourne on 22 & February which I know is not far away – but that’s what the Xmas/summer break does to you. Adelaide will hopefully be later this year.
